Student relaxing at Giles

Junior architecture major Lara Lynn Waddell from Marietta enjoys her lunch under the shade from a bus shelter behind Giles Hall, home of MSU's . Designed and built in fall 2009 by associate professor Hans Herrmann's fourth-year architecture students, the structure served as a prototype bus shelter for the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians rural transit system. A second example was built in Bogue Chitto for the MBCI and went on to win an Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture Collaborative Practice Honorable Mention award in 2010.
